The spinner fillers were finished today. The backer plates were trimmed and sanded to size, and the rivet holes were countersunk. Epoxy was applied to the overlap area of the backers and fillers, and they were riveted together with soft rivets.
The outer surfaces of the spinner and fillers were sanded and prepared for priming. I’ll pick up some sandable primer in the morning and begin the process.
I received the propeller pitch pins and small Nord Lock washers from Sensenich yesterday. They also called to explain and apologize for the delay in sending the correct hardware. He explained that my propeller was among the first four of this design, and while there is no problem with the propeller and hub, the mounting hardware for the Corvair conversion got away from them. A large part of the problem was the loss of a key hardware supplier. Looks like they are getting it worked out.
