The engine sled has been completed. It is designed to support the Corvair engine assembly by the engine mount, including all the accessories. The bottom of the sled has two 2X4 runners that will slide up the steps pulled by a cable attached to the front of the sled. The sled is designed to keep the engine level during the transition. When the sled reaches the upper landing, an engine hoist will pick it off the sled and take it to the Panther for mounting.
Since the cable must be off to one side at the top of the stairs due to architectural constraints, a long 2X4 has been mounted to the stairs to guide the sled.
