Brief Description: Rerouting of the Starter Wire & EFIS Fire Up
I decided to reroute the heavy starter cable. I originally set it up to pass through the firewall and connect to the master solenoid on the cabin side of the firewall. I later realized that pulling the cable with its connector through the firewall fitting would be almost impossible if required in the future. So, I fabricated a pass-through fitting from a 3/8” Allen screw, a nylon bushing, a 1/4” thick phenolic washer, 3/8” nuts, and washers. This will allow the cable connectors to be quickly removed from either side of the firewall.
The GRT EIS and EFIS were both powered up today for their preliminary checkout, and to be sure no smoke leaked out. Everything worked correctly. Even the GPS quickly found itself from my basement.
