Today, the pin holes remaining on the exterior of the canopy skirt were marked for future eradication.
Additional spot filling of the weave on the interior of the canopy skirt was completed, then sanded smooth.
Everything on the skirt was masked off except the interior surfaces to be painted. The remaining interior surfaces were primed with Dupli-Color 1692 Gray Hot Rod Primer. This is a dark gray primer that is a close match to the spatter paint. It provides a uniform background color, reducing the amount of spatter paint required.
After the primer dried for thirty minutes, a single coat of Dupli-Color DM100 Gray and White Spatter Paint was applied. It went on heavier than I expected, but I think it will shrink down as it cures. So far it looks good.
