Brief Description:  Skirt Interior Filling

With the epoxy/ground fiberglass mixture applied to the underside of the skirt yesterday now cured overnight, the canopy was ready to be removed again. It required more effort than the previous removal, but still was not difficult.

The canopy assembly was positioned upside-down in its cradle. I did some power sanding with a 100 grit Rolok disc in a pneumatic die grinder, to smooth the transitions from the gap filler at the perimeter of the skirt, to the interior of the skirt. After sanding down the high spots, a semi-thick mixture of cotton flox and epoxy was spread in the area from the gap filler inboard about two inches, and left to cure overnight.
