Two additional coatings of PVA release agent was applied to the packing tape on the fuselage, and the inside edge of the skirt was wiped down with alcohol. A thixotropic mixture of epoxy and ground glass fibers was mixed and squeezed into the gaps at several points around the skirt perimeter. This will be allowed to cure overnight.
I sure hope the PVA works correctly. Otherwise, the canopy will be permanently bonded to the fuselage, turning this project into an interesting, but expensive, yard ornament.
