Brief Description:  Elevator Trim Lever & Cable Mounting

Today I assembled the elevator trim lever system. A joggle was bent in the mounting bracket, and then mounted to the back side of the throttle quadrant with slightly longer bolts.

Because I did not have the P8513 friction bracket, I used the configuration described on Brent Mayo’s Kitlog site, http://www.mykitlog.com/users/display_log.php?user=mayob&project=2469&category=0&log=220535&row=4
This configuration places the nutplate on the outside of the trim lever rather than on a friction bracket. The nutplate is attached with solid, hard rivets, and JB Weld. It worked out fine, with no issues.

I also prepared the mounting holes and mounting clamps for the trim cable. The only change I am making here is to route the trim cable through the left rudder cable tunnel, with the forward clamp riveted on the inside rather than bolted on the outside. The plastic snap bushing at the rear baggage bulkhead will be repositioned to align with the cable tunnel. All of this just cleans up the appearance by getting the trim cable out of sight through the baggage area.

The trim cable is back ordered, so determining how well this routing works will not be known until it arrives.
