Yesterday, I designed filler panels for the rear of the baggage area. The bulkhead is open, so to prevent the loss of my toothbrush or tool box to the rear fuselage, I decided to fill the openings with 0.020” thick aluminum panels. This morning I retrieved the “B” size (11” x 17”) drawings from a local office supply store.
The full scale patterns were cut out and glued to the aluminum sheet, then the aluminum was cut with aviation snips and the top and bottom were bent to 90-degrees. The panels were deburred, primed and painted, then riveted in place.
