Today I took the time to design and fabricate a magnetometer mount. The mount was designed using 3D CAD in the sheet metal mode. This provides an unfolded full scale pattern that is printed out, then glued to 0.025” thick 6061-T6 aluminum sheet. The pattern is then cut with hand shears, then bent at the centerlines marked on the paper pattern.
The mount is riveted to the back side of Bulkhead #1. This location had been checked with a Magnetometer App on my cell phone, and showed very little magnetic error.
