Brief Description: Marrying the Forward and Aft Fuselage Assemblies
Most of the day was spent securing the four corners of the forward/ aft fuselage connections. This consisted of measuring, marking, drilling, updrilling, and reaming the remaining side and top fastener holes for the connections. Since the fuselage will need to be turned on its side to complete drilling the bottom surface fastener holes, one temporary bolt was installed in each corner to be sure the two fuselage halves stayed in formation during the fuselage turning process.
The left and right side rivet holes were match drilled after the corners were secured.
While waiting for a neighbor to come help flip the fuselage, I decided to start on the horizontal stabilizer rear mount. The four mounting brackets were positioned as specified in the Builder’s Manual, drilled and clecoed in position.
