Brief Description: Initial Tail Wheel Spring Mounting
The tail-wheel spring was positioned into the rear end of the aft fuselage, drilled to #30, and clecoed into place per the Builders Manual, with one variation to the specified process.
To assure alignment of the tail-wheel spring to the fuselage centerline, after leveling the fuselage in the upright position, a self leveling laser was aligned with centerline features in bulkhead #1 and #3. The tail-wheel spring was then aligned with the vertical laser line before being clamped in place for drilling of the mounting points. After drilling and clecoing, the alignment was checked again with the laser, and the results were excellent.
