Brief Description:  Wing Spars

December 31, 2014 turned out to be a good day. The spar kit arrived. My friend, neighbor, and fellow aircraft builder, Brent Gleason, brought his forklift equipped tractor to my house to unload the 12+ foot long crate from the delivery truck. He then helped me carry it to my basement workshop.

The next morning, January 1, the crate was opened and all the parts inspected for damage. There was evidence that somewhere between Florida and Indiana, that a lift fork had penetrated the crate before it was delivered. Fortunately, everything inside was in excellent conditioned. The crate was strong and separated the components with wood separators and plenty of foam wrap around the components at points of risk.

A detailed inventory was completed and every component on the packing list was present, carefully packaged, and identified. The hardware items were separated into individual drawers, and the drawers marked with the part number stickers from each of the individual hardware plastic bags.

The assembly manual was downloaded from the website and printed; and construction should start tomorrow, after I study the manual this evening.
