Continued work on the horizontal stabilizer. Everything went well until I tried to mount the left skin; it just would not fit correctly. After rereading the Assembly Manual and carefully reviewing the drawings, I noticed that there were two different leading edge rib part numbers. I had inadvertently interchanged the inboard and outboard ribs on the left side of the H.S. The outboard rib is 3/16” longer than the inboard rib because the spar stiffener does not extend to the outboard dib. After correctly positioning the ribs, everything fit properly.
I need to pay closer attention to the drawings. Lesson learned, but several lost hours.
