Brief Description: Purchased 2nd Hand Empennage Kit

Purchased my kit from Evans Powell today for $900. I drove to North Platte, Nebraska to meet him, which was halfway. I am now the 4th owner of the kit, which is a very early RV-7 empennage, circa 2002, with the original small rudder.
The kit appears to have most drilling and prep work completed on the horizontal stablizer, but the steps of deburring / dimpling / priming / riveting remain. Work on the HS completed thus far appear to be very good. When I cleco'ed the assembly, alignment was very good.
Alternatively, some work was done on the small rudder, which may not be acceptable. It appears the blue vinyl was partially removed using a knife or sharp object of some sort rather than a solder gun, which left stress concentration scratches in the surface. I'm glad Van's will replace this rudder with the new, larger rudder at no cost.
The vertical stablizer and elevators appear to have no work done to them.
