Riveted the HS-810 and HS-814 to the HS-702 front spar channels. Some of the rivets I could squeeze and some had to be bucked. I caught the angles with the squeezer on a couple so had to smooth the marks and re-prime those bits. I also chose to drill out and re-do 2-3 rivets that I wasn't happy with. I still have trouble keeping the flush rivet set from skidding around, and though I didn't damage the work I did have to drill out one of the rivets. Masking tape on the flush rivet set helped a little, but there's definitely a technique to getting the gun perfectly centred on the rivet which I need to learn. I'm not sure now whether to assemble the complete skeleton and then rivet on the skins, pretty much as per the Orndorff videos, or whether to strictly follow Vans manual; still thinking on that one. Meanwhile, Jackie is off to England for three weeks (I'm driving her to the airport in an hour or so), and I'm not going to tackle the riveting on my own, so maybe I'll just make a start on the vert stab; not sure yet.
