Brief Description:  HS l/h side re-work & priming

Didn't think I'd done much today, despite being in the workshop all day. But has actually been quite productive. Drilled the trim cable hole in the new HS-702 front spar, bent the 6 deg angle in the flange, and fitted to the existing l/h side HS skeleton. I had bought a new spar since it was cheap and I had badly elongated the hole that fits to the HS-405 main rib. Since I was ordering a new skin anyway, I decided I'd rather do a new front spar too and eliminate the problem completely. Fitted the new HS-801PP skin to the l/h side skeleton. Drilled the centre holes through the HS-810 and HS-814 angles. Drilled the holes for the HS-404 rib. Match drilled the entire skin to the existing skeleton. Removed the skin and drilled the remaining holes in the HS-810 and HS-814 angles. Disassembled the entire l/h side, deburred and dimpled all the holes on the HS-801PP skin, HS-603PP rear spar and HS-702 front spar. Deburred and cleaned up all edges on same, and then cleaned and primered. I did a better job than last time, but still need some proper instruction. The Ameron 719 primer is *very* watery and just wants to run for England, so its hard to get an even coat without runs. Nonetheless, better than the last time so at least I'm making progress! Tomorrow night I hope to complete the riveting of the front and rear spars, and if I have spare time I'll clean and primer the l/h side ribs.
