Yep, you red that title right: empennage repairs *already*!! Having got the empennage out for the SAA Chapter meeting yesterday, I noted that some of the paint on the hinge brackets had come off and that they had begun to rust. So this evening I took to them with some emery cloth and wet 'n' dry and rubbed them back to metal before cleaning them and then painting them with Vans touch-up paint. Hopefully that will keep them ok. Now that I know about it, I'll try to make a point of checking for this kind of thing every so often. Tomorrow night we'll wrap everything in foam again and put it all back into storage; then we can get back on with the right wing. For now, though, Mythbusters..! :-)
