Brief Description: Instrument panel access door mod
Assembled the forward baggage bay bulkhead upper to the F-802N crossbrace complete with access panel. Put a little 'S-bend' into each leg of the double to take it over the F-802N. Drilled the holes for #8 screws with everything together. The arrow in the first picture points to the .025" shim that, along with the .025" bulkhead lower, brings the bottom half of the hinge out to about the same height as the .040" panel. Almost.
With everything drilled and properly aligned I then removed the door and countersunk the holes for AN426 rivets on the aft side. Drilled the bulkhead and doubler for nutplate rivets and additional rivets in the larger gaps. Dimpled the bulkhead and countersunk the doubler to accept the dimples as required (the flush head on the forward side of the bulkhead).
