Brief Description:  Flightline Interior aileron pushrod boots

I purchased these aileron pushrod boots ages ago from Flightline Interiors. I decided to do them tonight. The boots are made from zero porosity nylon fabric; looks like the same stuff modern ram-air parachutes are made from! They go on the outside of the fuselage and are held in place with a reinforcing ring. They are to stop cold draughts coming in from the wings into the cabin area. A paper template is provided so I made two more copies on paper, stuck them to some scrap .025" with some spray adhesive and cut them out with the dremel. That's when I found out the templates are *way* too small and would not be suitable. Scrap. Start again. Made my own templates direct from the fuselage skin cutouts, making them 18mm wide. This time all I had was some 0.40" but that's ok. I cut the middle with the dremel and the outside with the tin snips. A sanding drum then smoothed out the inside and the scotchbright wheel the outside. And that's as far as I got in an hour and a half. Like I said before: its the mods that take so much extra time...
