Brief Description:  Seat floors

Not a huge amount of progress this evening for the work done, but got some things cleared away. Firstly, I removed the after mounted battery tray and riveted the nutplates onto it: I had been meaning to do this for ages but never quite got around to to. It took longer than expected because the squeezer couldn't get in there due to the short width of the nutplate, which resulted in a mashe first attempt. Luckily I had purchased a 3/32" rivet set, so I clamped the battery tray in the vise and sorted it. Of course, I also had no AN426AD3-5 rivets, so I had to cut down -7s with the rivet cutter. All these little things add time.

The next time consuming job, which Jackei helped with, was fitting the nutplates for the fwd hole of the F-445 flap mounting block. Due to my sins with drill when countersinking I have had to use an 'oops' rivet on each side. The pneumatic squeezer did the business but only after I chose to removed the seat belt brackets to improve access. Glad I did; took way longer to remove and then replace, but the job was easier overall and trying to 'work around' the problem may well have resulted in a worse mess up than just using an 'oops' rivet on one leg of the nutplate (each side).

Finally I back-riveted the F830-D, -E & -F stiffeners to the left and right seat floors, and riveted the rear seat hinge and associated stiffener to the left side floor panel. At this point, Chester was bugging me to go out for a walk, so we called it quits for the evening.
