Spent a long time this evening not really achieving much. First thing was to join the center section to the forward fuselage by riveting and bolting the F-878 mid-cabin braces. The riveting bit went fine, it was the bolting bit that held me up. The plans called for an AN4-12A bolt, but the hole I had in the mid-cabin brace was *way* smaller than that! I checked the hole in the center section and that was indeed an AN4 hole, so what gives? How did I miss it? Well, I spent a good 15 minutes going back through the instructions, but no where can I fidn where it says to final dril that hole in the F-878 mid-cabin brace to ΒΌ". Well, I had no real choice here, since everything was riveted already, so I went ahead and opened the holes up and put the bolts in.
Next up was to join the seat rib sub-assembly to the center section using the seat ramp supports. This was trickier than it seems because of access to the vertical row of holes right next to the center section. I used the offset rivet set (which I hate because I'm never very good at controlling it) and asked Jackie to buck for me. Well, the rivets can only really be called adequate, but I reckoned to do more damage removing and trying again so they are being classified as 'good enough' in this case (sorry Bob!).
