Brief Description: Fuselage mid-section - bending the side skins (1)
Made some good and visible progress today. The main task which took most of the time was the edge-finishing and bending of the F-823 side skins. At first the instructions weren't all that clear and I was struggling to visualize exactly what Vans were telling me. I took it step-by-step and it all became obvious. I took photos to help other builders get a clearer understanding and I'll let the following photos do the talking.
After the side skins were bent, it was a case of fitting the seat rib sub-assembly to the center section assembly, and then fitting the side skins and the various bulkheads and arm rests. The next step is a whole load of match-drilling but I have run out of 1/8" cleco's to hold things together so it will have to wait while I get some. I'll give Aeroware a call in the morning: hopefully they'll have some in stock and will be able to courier them down to me...
