Brief Description:  Landing gear towers

I made some good progress again tonight, and learned a couple of small things that might help other builders:-

1. When rivetting the forward angles to the gear tower bulkheads, make not of the one rivet where the mid-cabin brace will go. They don't mention that in the instructions when they tell you to rivet it together and then you later have to drill it out again. Ask me how I know!!

2. When rivetting the WD-822 weldment to the gear tower forward bulkhead, do the single AN246AD4-5 flush rivet that sits under the mid-cabin brace FIRST. Otherwise it is very difficult to then get the flush rivet set in place without marring the surrounding universal head rivets that you've already set. Again, ask me how I know!!

Having said that, I'm pleased with what I got done tonight. Its actually beginning to look like a structure of some sort :-) Those mid-cabin braces take a while to deburr though, thanks to their odd shape. I'm hoping to have the remaining parts done and ready for priming tomorrow night so I have the option of priming them on Saturday (assuming I don't go skydiving). I'm off in the South Island in Picton getting my tandem skydive rating next week, so won't be doing any aeroplane work for a while...
