Brief Description:  Classic Aero RV-8 seat fix

I was recently notified by Classic Aero that they had had a couple of their RV-8 seat frames get bent in use. To resolve the future likelihood of that very rare event occuring they had produced a free retrofit kit to provide extra reinforcement in the affected area. They sent me out the kit which arrived a week or two ago. Since the weather precluded any chance of skydiving today, and I have no RV work until Vans sends the new parts for the incorrect rudder pedal kit, I decided to do the seat mod. I had read some reports on the Internet that it looked to be a mission, so I wasn't looking forward to it. Well, I won't go into any detail, but suffice to say that it was pretty easy. I followed Classic Aero's instructions to the letter, which are *very* clear and easy to follow. One and three quarter hours later I was done and you'd never notice the difference; Jackie didn't! Anyway, don't fret about it; its easy. Personally, I can't see the need for the 'fix' for me and Jackie - I struggle to see how someone bent the frame in the location that was reinforced anyway, but there you go. Classic Aero recommended it, and I've done it, and it was easy. Tick. Job done.
