I phoned Luke at Classic Aero this morning (I had to get up at 6am to do so!). I've ordered the complete RV-8 package in leather. Seats with headrests, stick boots, arm rests and two additional booster cushions. We've gone for Light Gray trim with Pacific Blue interior. The headrests, armrests, stick boots and cushions will all be Light Gray. This should fit in nicely with our overall colour scheme, and the Hooker Harnesses that I already have. I paid a 50% deposit on the total cost of around $2400 or so. Expected ship date to Vans Aircraft to be included with my fuselage shipment is on 25th January 2007. That means I'll need to order the fuselage kit six weeks from now. I'm also trying to organize the purchase of the Tom Clark fastback modification kit & Grove airfoil aluminium gear legs, but there's a money issue creeping up on me; we'll just have to wait and see how that works out. Of course, I only have one aileron and the flaps to finish on the wing kit, so I'm going to have several months of downtime. No problem; it will give me a chance to do some extra computer certification exams for work and bring myself up to date there. I'd rather be doing the plane, of course, but since I'm not taking on any finance, and I really want those seats, this is the way its going to be. I'm in no special rush anyway... :-)
