Brief Description:  Right wing tip (rib)

After poring over the drawings for ages, I eventually decided on a plan and aligned the edge of the tip rib flush with the edge of the tip at the trailing edge and following that same line up. Of course, this places the forward edge somewhat outboard (inside) of the edge forward of the aileron. And here there's a slight problem with distance from the existing skin attach holes, as I partly eluded to in the previous post. See photo 2. This is what I was talking about for the main skin attach holes and the edge distance. I have trimmed the fibreglass too far because I thought it was hitting the aileron hinge bracket, when in fact it wasn't. Not only that, but with the tip rib in what I believe is the correct position. the edge of the rib is right next to the skin attach hole. This will take it difficult when opening the hole out for a #4 or #6 screw and when setting the rivets. I have decided that, since I am attaching the wing tip with nutplates, I shall get the tip rib fitted, build up the missing fibreglass both outwards and up to the same level as the rib flange, and then once that is cured use a backing plate for the nutplate. And that will do the job nicely. Next job will be to prime the tip rib before fitting, but I've decided to stop for lunch, which Jackie is currently making for me, nice girl :-) After lunch, I'll mix up some DP40 and prime the end rib, the flap hinge that we drilled the other day, the flange of the flap brace (will need Jackie's help for that bit), and also the main right-wing aileron pushrod (which I'll need to detach first). And that will be it for today while the primer sets up.
