Brief Description:  Drilled ribs to spars (left wing)

No pictures today. Match drilled the main ribs from the main and rear spar. Then it hit me: what about the top/bottom skin attach holes. So I drilled those too. Now the main spar attach isn't so bad: the main spar will get machine countersunk to accept the dimpled skin. But what about the rear spar. Do I need to dimple that and the ribs (thus having three dimples?). The instructions seem to suggest that on page 7-8 where the wing skin rivetting instructions are. However, there are no instructions to actually dimple the ribs. Oddly enough, the instructions on page 7-8 state to dimple the ribs. Of course, if you've been following the instructions verbatim, then by this time you'll have already rivetted the ribs to the rear spar. So there's no way you're going to dimple the hole where the rib attaches to the rear spar flange and the skin, is there? I had a look on DanC's website, and though he doesn't specifically say so, I noted later on when he was rivetting the skins that the rear spar looked like it had been machine countersunk. Great, now I have two differing opinions. Only one thing for it then... VansAirforce.net forums!!!
