Brief Description:  Fitting the canopy

Did a bit more trimming, marking and measuring. Remembered I had forgotton a 1/8" spacer on the front hoop so added one. Its just as well too since the canopy sits tight on the spacer and certainly we wouldn't have wanted to make another cut! Did some trims around the canopy handle tube, and marked clearances for the canopy frame ribs which I'll dremel out another day. Next time we put the canopy on I'll need to adjust the height of the frame upwards to match how the canopy sits on the front hoop. Then we'll need to clamp the whole thing against the spacers and make 'final' trims along the side/bottom edges. After that we'll need to consider the 'BIG CUT'. Oh-Oh!! Before all that I'll need a few supplies; some 3/8 rubber sheet, preferably self-adhesive on one side, and 30 or so spring clamps.

Once we are 'happy' (relatively speaking) with the canopy fit, then I'll need to fabricate the aft canopy retaining pins and receptacles, get the pins welded in place and then have the canopy frame re-powder coated. For that I need to go and see the painters and find out whether they can get, or match Cardinal Paint part# T009-GR-230. Otherwise I might need to consider the Cardinal GR-230 rattle cans, *if* I can source any here in NZ...
