Well, the priming came out pretty well, but still gold coloured and not yellow. Perhaps I had too much hardener in it? Will reduce mix slightly next time as I'm not sure I'm getting true 1:1 using the current method. Back riveted all the stiffeners to the rudder skin and then bent the trailing edge as required in the wooden bending brake I had constructed. This took considerably more force than we expected and we were worried about damaging the skin. One problem we hit was that the 1/8" wooden dowel (as per the Orndorff video) got trapped in between the stiffeners on each side of the skin. We couldn't pull it out and had to break it out with a screwdriver. In doing so we marred the inside skin which we then had to touch up with primer again. Bugger. Not sure how we're going to avoid this next time, short of making the stiffeners a little shorter, and we don't really want to do that. Will need to give that some thought. Will make a start on the rudder skeleton tomorrow.
