Okay, technically not part of the finish kit, but I didn't know how to categorize it. I cannot believe it took me so long to get the grip on once I had cut and drilled the stick! Stupid fiddly switches. I had to use a small dab of cyano to hole the trigger button switch in place, so I sincerely hope that if I ever need to get it out I didn't over do it! Its tricky getting the grip closed up and stopping the wires from getting pinched. I did pinch a couple of wires on one attempt but I checked and they are just a little squashed; the insulation seems to be intact. Once I got the thing together I beeped out all the wires to make sure the various switches and buttons work ok.
I was quite amazed and how much I had to cut off the stick to allow the grip to clear the panel (with space for my thumb on top of the hat switch). Again, I hope I haven't overdone it. You will note how the grip is angled and not straight? I sat in the cockpit to see how my hand would sit on the grip as I had noted on the VanAirforce forums and some builder's websites that straight fore/aft isn't necessarily the most comfortable. I sat without the seats actually, but I expect that won't affect the angle of my hold, just the height of it. I also put some heatshrink around the cable where it exits the stick for some extra abrasion resistance.
