This is my 3rd attempt at priming and frankly I'm still struggling. The stuff I'm using (Ameron 719) seems watery thin and runs so easily. I also found that even before one cup full has been used it severely clogs the filter on the gun, which means I have to take the gun apart and clean it out. I thinned tonight's lot around 10%, but I've also tried not thinning at all, and as much as 80% or so. Doesn't seem to make much difference to the results. I just can't get this. Nonetheless, all the parts for the horizontal stabilizer are now primed so I'll wait until I need to do the same for the vertical stabilizer and then seek some 'professional' help, see if I can't learn what to do...
