Got another bay done this evening. Only the last bay and a single row along the front spar to do now. The cleco's in the photo show what's left. We may finish it up tomorrow night, or we may not. Note the 'bent tab' note: I'll need to use the old 'o-ring' trick here to make sure the tab gets held down while I rivet. It got bent during assembly; I don't know exactly how because I didn't notice until later. My model arrived from CustomAirModels.com today: neat! Other than the fact that we will have a fastback mod, different wing tips and different wing tip lights, this model depicts the colour scheme that we think we have settled on. It will probably live on my desk at work as inspiration for when the days are a little long! Note the difference in the paint on the wing tips: I only noticed that *after* I agreed to have the model shipped (Rick sends photos first, in case there are any changes). I'm not sure which side I prefer. My original design was the far side where the yellow strips splits through the blue sweep, but now that I see it 'in the flesh' I think I prefer the near side: I guess that's the great thing about seeing the scheme on the actual model. Not sure about the same deal on the vert stab either. I'm also thinking of a matt black front to cut glare from the sun: like some fighter jets have. Not sure about that yet either. Cool model though, huh?! :-)
