Brief Description:  Spar retainers, or something!!

I've had nothing to do really this weekend. The replacement aileron hinge bracket hasn't arrived from Vans, and I didn't want to start the flaps or rivet the left aileron yet. Actually, space is my biggest problem at the momemt, since the right wing is still on the table. The weather has been crap too, so I haven't even been able to go skydiving. So I hit the forums: and some poor builder had his QB wing slip of the cradle and damage the leading edge: OUCH!! Now this is something I had been concerned about for a while and not done anything about. This was all the encouragement I needed. So this is what I came up - take a rubber foot from something long since thrown away, a 38mm length of garden sprinkler/irrigation pipe, and washer and an 8-guage x 3" wood screw - tada!!! That wing's not going anywhere, and the hole won't get damaged either; the garden pipe slides neatly into the existing counterbore in the rubber foot and stops the screw touching the spar hole. The pipe also helps to prevent crushing the whole thing too much. Sweet.
