Since I lent my DRDT-2 to another local builder I needed to get the right aileron skin ready for dimpling tonight while I have some time. I'll be busy skydiving tomorrow, but at some point over the weekend I need to pop over and dimple this skin. I still have the stiffeners to shape and finish, but I can work on those here. The new bracket from Vans shipped via FedEx this morning so will probably arrive Monday or Tuesday. I want to be ready to prime that and the aileron skin & stiffeners all in one go. One thing I'm not sure about yet is this skin: once I peeled the blue film off I noticed that the light caught in a couple of places along the bent edge. On closer inspection the skin is buckled in those two areas; almost like it has been squeezed in a vice. I suspect this occurred either during bending at the factory, or during packing. I've taken some photos but the dents are hard to pick out with any sense of depth; I'll send them off to Vans and see what they say. I think it's fine, but I like to be certain...
