Brief Description:  Rivet flap brace/aileron gap fairing

Sometimes I think it takes longer with two people, even if it is a little easier. No matter, I'm thankful for Jackie's help. Its nice working on the plane together. Anyway, tonight I riveted the flap brace in place while Jackie mixed up the last of the proseal from our existing tube. I had to shoot/buck these since it isn't possible to get the squeezer in there because of the angle of the brace. The I applied the proseal to the main rib/wiring conduit intersections to guard against vibration chaffing through the conduit and then the wires inside (oh-oh!!). While I did that Jackie used the pneumatic squeezer to put the rivets in the aileron gap fairing/top skin join. We had to drill out one but the rest went in ok. Finally, after a quick change on the squeezer to the 3" longeron yoke, we worked together to squeeze the rear spar/aileron gap fairing rivets. I squeezed while Jackie got the next rivet ready. Most of the holes needed the #30 drill bit run through again by hand before the rivet would go in smoothly. So that's those bits done now. Next job tomorrow night is to trial fit the aileron bellcrank and check out the clearance for the SafeAir1 pitot tubing. If its all good then I'll use silicon on the pitot tubing where it goes through the bushes since its a little loose: I'll use silicon rather than proseal in case I ever need to get the tubing out of there: it will be much less hassle, relatively speaking. If there is a clearance issue I'll sort that out first (obviously). Once that is done though we can start thinking about closing the wing up. Neat.
