Brief Description:  fuel leak

Well, as a lot of us have experienced, eventually the poly tank will leak around the cast in fittings. So did mine after many months and a few taxi tests. I would not remove the tank. So I had to work upside down in a kinked up fashion just to fet indies where I needed to be. Some special tools needed to be built, and this is one. For the exit fitting I had to find a way to remove the old fitting and not over enlarge the hole. I used a 1/4 pipe plug with a centering hole drilled thru it, and used it to hold the hole saw centered. It worked well, but was hard to do and I had some sore arms and hands before it was done

1) shows how the saw, plug and remailn of the original fitting came out

2) The plug and its center hole. I have replaced the norman twist drill bit on the hole ssaw with a 1/4 inch piece of steel rod to act as an allignment device.

3) After what seemed like all day job the original fitting came out almost sawed completely thru from outside to inside.

What I have not shown due to forgetfullness is the temp floor used, and the method of folding the sticks down be removal of three bolts, elliminating the necessity of removing entire system and destroying adjustments. It went back together without any problems and or readjustment necessary. Nice to know for servicing at a later date if necessary.
