Brief Description:  more bows

Anti-climatic at this point.

1)The finished windshield bow. Not really too bad for the first time with round rod 6061-T6. Only took two seperate sessions of a couple hours each. One would notice the ends are straight, as per the plans. I have not cut off any excess at this point.

2) The greatest problem with these bows was the placement of the windshield bow height and forward angle and rear edge of the windshield dimentions. Plans are not specific, other than to give total length of the boe ( is that inside or outside dimention?) or the verticle height from the side rails. I did not want to trust the glare shield height as, being scratch built, there are too many possibilities of tollerence build up, if you know what I mean. I fought with this for many days, finally going to visit a good friends Wyex and medasure what the kit dimentions were. I wasnt off too much, but still off enough to make a large difference in the transition between windshield and canopy curvatures.

3) Finally after some more hair pulling...well, that didnt work out really well- not much hair.... I was able to get withoin a couple of mm from what the plans showed for the windshield to bow and from bow to rear turtle deck dimentions. At least well within the trimming capability of the canopy, which I dont have yet. Maybe thats my problem?
