Brief Description:  sensor location

Well, I didnt get any pictures for this, but maybe I can explain anyway.

The good old scope came to my rescue..again! I removed the bottom plugs, put the scope on the sensor output and cranked the engine. Bingo! There it was..three, then four, thentwo then four pulses comming from the sensor

The flywheel on the AeroVee has one magnet with twomachined aread on the"shoe", giving essentially three closely spaced magnetic signatures as the engine cranked. This arraingment is necessary for the magneto stylt ignition modules to function. But they interfeered with my tach sensor. The problem was solved by moving the sensor several INCHES back from the flywheel. I had to remake the sensor mount to get it there. But that appears to have fixed the problem.Actual engine run did show great agreement between the optical tach and the A/C tach. Done with that little booger!!!
