1) Well by now you probably see the screws and washers in place. It is installed!.. uncracked and unscratched!
I did try one thing that I think may be a good idea. I covered the cowl front end and the windshield bow strap with a very thin layer of the same material I used for the glare shield. My idea is/was to try to avoid fretting and rubbing damage to the lexan, in an attempt to avoid future cracks by having the Lexan bedded on something softer that 6061-T6. I shall see how it goes in the years to come
2) Here is thewindshield bow, showing the same treatment with the glare shield material. It also sort of prevents one from getting abused by the sharp edges. And...it gives the forward edge of the canopy a nice place to rest on other than the bare aluminum. I shall see.
