Brief Description:  Trim Tab Cover

It became apparent planning the fabric coverage of the stabilizer that the bolts attaching the bellcrank to the trim torque tube and the rod end bearing that Avipro uses were not going to clear the fabric. I tried forming a fairing using Aluminum and fiberglass, but wasn't satisfied with the results. I then went to Oshkosh 2008 early in the week and looked at the three Bearhawks available and one used a fairing to solve the problem. I discussed it with Bob Barrows and he recommended welding the bellcrank to the torque tube, which solves the bolt clearance problem. I then wandered around the Fly Market and found a pair of MS21252-3RL turnbuckle clevis ends for $2.50 each which have a minimal diameter and Bob said it would be fine, which solved the fairing problem. While at OSH, I also attended the Poly-FIber 101 course, which was a good refresher for the Poly-Fiber system. I TIG welded the bellcranks to the torque tube by filling in the bolt holes and providing additional skip welding and then prepped and epoxy primed the parts. I then covered the trim tabs thru to the first coat of the Poly-Brush. I'll wait till I have a batch of items before spraying the 2 additional coats of Poly-Brush and puting on the 3 additional coats of Poly-Spray.
