Brief Description:  Cylinder AD Revisited 1

About a year and a half ago, I replaced 5 cylinders under an ECI Titan cylinder AD. ECI provided 5 new cylinders. Unfortunately, the FAA has found additional cracks, and the 5 new cylinders I replaced in June 2008 are now the subject of a brand spanking new NPRM. ECI won't replace the cylinders this time, and insist on reworking the cylinders instead. So, I removed the baffling, intake and exhaust manifolds, CHT sensors, etc. and cylinders. I flew them down to SAT, and used the courtesy car at Landmark Aviation to take them to ECI. In the department of something good can come out of something miserable, I did discover that one of the cylinders had a thoroughly scratched exhaust port, presumably as the result of a not very competent grinding off of flashing. The ECI rep said he'd take care of that problem.
