I continued the process of installing and modifiying the Van's RV-10 baffle kit in order to fit the Bearhawk. A considerable amount of aluminum needed to be trimmed in order to safely fit within the confines of the engine cowl. Three of the supplied brackets had to be modified in order to fit my O-540. I modified the top aft bracket by riveting on a rectangular extrusion and had to completely fabricate the top front bracket. The left front inner bracket had to be shortened and the large diameter hole was redrilled. I wanted to utilize a plenum in order to minimize cooling losses. I trimmed and bent a .025 plenum top which fits one-piece to just in line with the front cylinders. I have yet to figure out the last bit where the plenum interfaces with the nosebowl, but that will be the next step.
