I received the mufferless exhaust pipes from Larry Vetterman, which fit the confines of the Bearhawk cowl much better. I installed the heater muff and carb heat muff. The new flanges which fit the aft end of the ball joint were slightly too large - this caused tilting of the attach bolts. Larry is a stand-up guy and has a pair of the correct flanges on the way. I need to fabricate hanger brackets for the attach cable/clamps, which I'll attach to a strap bolted across the firewall, which also will provide support for the cowl flap torque tube.
