Brief Description:  Flight 3 & 4

Flights 3 and 4 went well; Bob Barrows certainly designs an airplane that lands well. Along the way, I adjusted the rudder trim tab so that it would apply slight right rudder at cruise, in order to center the ball. I tightened the flap cables a little more so they would be flush with the wing root at cruise. I squeezed the left aileron slightly with seaming pliers and on the fourth flight, there wasn't any obvious right wing heaviness. Unfortunately, there was a little turbulence, so final determination will need a smooth day. The left door latch was a little loose and the window opened during a touch-and-go, so I removed the inner latch and gave it a little rubber mallet treatment to get it to bind against the door a bit more. The carb heat wasn't putting out much heat as indicated by the AFS EFIS carb temp readout. Close inspection revealed the flapper valve which directs intake flow from the air filter or from the carb heat muff to the carburetor inlet wasn't fully favoring carb heat when the control was pulled aft in the cockpit. I removed a small amount of cable casing to get more pull length and additionally installed the Dubros collars recommended by the DAR.
