Brief Description:  Oil Return Fitting 1

Of the five zero-time cylinders I sent back to ECI for rework, only three of mine were returned to me. Two others were zero-time units from Aerosport, that had been reworked. All three of my cylinders have the same problem, which I didn't notice until I started to hook up the oil return tubing. Namely, it looked like the fittings had either been acid-etched or sandblasted, and beat up in the process. I have very little confidence that these fittings will not leak. I then checked to see if I could budge one of the fittings, and it turned out I could, for about 1/2 a turn, whereupon it broke in two. So, I ended up drilling out the broken fitting after an easy-out wouldn't budge it, and retapping it. The process ended up turning out ok, but I'm a little fearful of repeating this task two more times, as it's entirely possible to end up cross-threading the already existing threads in the cylinder. I'm calling ECI tomorrow.
