I started the process of installing the 5 cylinders which I had to resend to ECI on account of a second AD on these same 5 cylinders. They'd already been replaced by ECI during the first AD, and these same cylinders now fall into the second AD. After the cylinders were installed, and torque double-checked, I then went through the process of installing the valve train and checking tappet dry clearance. One thing I've never run into before is I couldn't pass the rocker arm from either the right or left of the middle cylinder on the right, #3. In fact, I destroyed the thrust washer trying to do so, so I've ordered a new one (about $4). I ended up having to loosen the bolts on cylinder #5, so I could pass the rocker arm through #5 to get into #3, and then retorqueing #5 and #6. In addition, I ended up needing two more short pushrods. I'll detail how I went about solving that problem in the next log.
