Brief Description:  Tailwheel installation

The tailwheel installation proved to be problematic. First, the springs with the kit didn't fit well together and the provided tailspring clamp wasn't tall enough. Avipro sent some better fitting springs, but the provided clamp ended being too short anyway, so I had to scratch make one. Next, the Scott-Weinberg tailwheel, although a work of art, wouldn't allow me to fit a standard locknut or even a castellated nut without binding up. I ended up using a MS21042 locking nut, which has a reduced diameter, which solved that problem. Also, when I went to fit a Maule anti-shimmy connector assembly, it required drilling out the rudder arm to 3/16 inch, which then resulted in a pretty small center-edge distance. I was uncomfortable with that, and so welded a 3/16 washer onto both sides. Finally, it all went together. Now, I'm just waiting for the "Tundra Tire" upgrade.
