Brief Description:  Right Aileron

I think the wing control surfaces are tricky to mount. You can adust up and down, fore and aft, left and right, without a lot cues as to where the right place is. Fortunately, the outboard rib, which also intefaces with the wingtip, comes pre-drilled, and presumably matches the desired contour. There are also keying holes on each rib and control surface. I made a temporary rib to reproduce the keying hole position of the outboard rib, and clamped it to the spar at the aileron position inboard. This enabled me to define the fore/aft position of the aileron and at least the up and down position of the aft aileron. I used the plywood template to define the forward aileron contour, and made a 0.5 inch bushing to lock the left/right position of the aileron relative to the outboard rib, as described in the plans. I clamped the aileron hinges to the aileron spar after removing the gussets, and Superglued the aileron bearings into their tubes so as a provisional means of fixing their position prior to riveting. I ended up making a small transfer punch on the lathe so as to mark the spar where the hinge holes would go, and drilled same.
