Brief Description:  Bottom Doors Completed, Prepped to Prime

I completed the pilot bottom door, made stainless steel window latch scuff strips for both doors, and prepared the doors for priming. I decided to add reinforcing strips to the skin along the lower frame of both doors, which utilize dimpled -4 rivets and a .032 channel, so that truss head sheet metal screws loaded in shear secure the lower skin to the frame. I did this because of concern about weakness of the countersunk screws in too thin aluminum sheet. If I had to do it over, I'd skip using countersunk screws all together, and go with this method of securing the skin to the frame. I also made some map pockets of .016 which are screwed to the inner frame, and completed mounting the air vents described previously. The first image shows the best way I've found to secure the spring while pounding down the spring housing.
