Brief Description:  Windshield Supports

I installed eight 1.5 inch long support angles bent back 30 deg from the verticle. The base and vertical dimension are both 1 inch and the supports are made of .032 inch 2024-T3 and employ a large bend radius to avoid cracking. I temporarily reinstalled the windshield, held the supports up against the windshield and marked the central drill hole in the base onto the boot cowl. I used a paper template on the outer three supports so that it could be reversed so that the supports would be symmetric on both sides. After marking the location for the drill holes, I installed 8-32 keyed rivnuts to mount the units. After alodining, I bonded 1/16 thick x 5/8 wide neoprene pads onto the supports where they will contact the windshield, and zinc chromate primed and Krylon satin black painted the remainder of the supports and then installed them.
